As the clients of the project were based out of the East coast, they wanted a building and landscape to reflect aesthetics of which they were accustomed. The challenge was to make this design style fit in to its surroundings in the urban core of Las Vegas and still provide a sustainable landscape that would thrive. Plant, building material, and site furniture selection were crucial to achieving the specific look.
A unique selection of plants was used on this project to create a lush, rich feel. Large Ash trees were selected to provide shaded walks in front of the building for pedestrians and visitors. Evergreen shrubs such as Boxwood and Juniper are the foundation plants, creating a backdrop for contrasting Spanish Lavender and colorful blooms from roses. English Ivy was desired to climb the North and East facades of the building to add interest and break up the powerful facade.
